Rose Ball Raises Over $100,000 For Hospital

RAHWAY — The 21st annual Rose Ball raised almost $102,000 for RWJ Rahway to upgrade its technology, purchase new equipment and improve its facilities, according to Christine Kline, Rose Ball chairman and RWJ Rahway Foundation trustee.

The event also recognized the commitment and dedication of the hospital’s medical/dental staff and Northfield Bank.


Accepting the Order of the Rose, Northfield Bank Chairman & CEO John Alexander thanked the hospital for the honor, and expressed the bank’s continued  commitment to the healthcare needs of the community.

The hospital’s medical/dental staff was inducted into the Guardians of the Rose and Dr. Vinod Sinha, president of the medical/dental staff, accepted the award on their behalf.  Staff members received a Guardians of the  Rose commemorative pin in appreciation for their 93 years of partnership in  healthcare with the  hospital, and their medical expertise, leadership and  compassionate care to their patients.

The foundation thanked the many special sponsors who supported the event, including the two Rose Sponsors, Northfield Bank Foundation and RSI Bank.  Other special sponsors included Merck & Co., Inc., Emergency Medical Associates of NJ; Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital; QualCare, Inc., K & L Gates, Sodexo, RWJ Hamilton & Children’s Specialized Hospital; Siemens Medical Solutions USA; ConocoPhillips – Bayway Refinery GNYHA; Rahway Anesthesiologists, P.A.; Doctors Vinod and Anubha Sinha; TLC and S & D Radiology and Rahway Pathology, P.A.

The annual Rose Ball Super 50/50 Raffle reached $19,050 and the lucky first prize winner received $4,762.50. “The Rose Ball Committee would especially like to thank our hospital family, Board members, Medical/Dental staff members, and community residents who supported our 50/50 raffle,” said Kline.

Dramatic purple linens with red accents set the stage for the 230 guests to enjoy a wonderful cocktail reception complete with strolling magicians and a vocalist, followed by dinner at the Hotel Westminster in Livingston. Dancing to the music of Park Avenue Sound added to the splendid event.  The honorees and committee members enjoyed a special by invitation only reception immediately proceeding the cocktail hour.
