NEW BRUNSWICK – The Superior Court of New Jersey Middlesex Vicinage, the Middlesex Vicinage Advisory Committee on Minority Concerns, the Metuchen-Edison area branch of the NAACP and the Puerto Rican Action Board will present an expungement seminar on Thursday, May 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Board of Chosen Freeholders meeting room on the first floor of the Middlesex County Administration Building, 75 Bayard St., New Brunswick.
The workshop will provide participants with information about recent changes in the expungement law, who is eligible for expungement law, which types of convictions can and cannot be expunged, how an expungement is filed, and what happens at an expungement hearing.
Forms and instructions will be provided to participants who wish to file as self-represented litigants. Local attorneys have volunteered to assist with the workshop. Because this is an informational workshop only, no personal cases can be discussed or resolved.
The workshop is free of charge and is open to all Middlesex County residents. Participants are asked to call Sylvia L. O’Connor at 732-519-3344 to reserve a seat because space is limited. Light refreshments will be served.
