PERTH AMBOY—The Proprietary House will be hosting a living history day on Saturday, May 1. The event starts at 10a.m. and goes to 4 p.m.
The 20th Century saw a great many events which molded the world for us today. Many of those events occurred because of military conflicts the world over. On this day, re-enactors will be present in uniforms of the times they are portraying displaying the items, and equipment of the past.
There will be representatives from the Spanish/American War to the Persian Gulf War. Displays will include uniforms, antiques and relic equipment and weapons as well as discussions about the life of the individual soldiers from those wars represented. How the soldier lived and survived, what he ate, how he lived will be some of the subjects discussed as well.
There is a suggested donation of $6 for adults; children may attend for free.
The Proprietary House is located at 149 Kearny Avenue. For more information, call 1-732-826-5527.
