LINDEN – Police are warning Linden residents to lock their car doors and keep valuables out of sight following a series of car break-ins and motor vehicle thefts during the overnight hours between April 19 and 20.

In one night, there were 12 car burglaries and two motor vehicle thefts in the Sunnyside section of Linden, in the 10 to 300 blocks of the streets bordering North Wood Avenue including Orchard and Summit terraces, police said. Some of the vehicles had been left unlocked and nearly all were undamaged, according to authorities. The glove compartments and center consoles were ransacked and GPS units, sunglasses and change were taken.
