Car Stolen While Owner Was In Convenience Store

LINDEN – A 26-year-old Linden man left his car running while he went into the convenience store at the Hess Station on West St. Georges Avenue Tuesday evening. When he came back outside, the vehicle was gone, police said.

Officers investigating the case reviewed video footage from the station and observed a thin black man with dreadlocks and dark clothing enter the blue 2008 Nissan Maxima and drive off heading east on West St. Georges Avenue. Police searched the area, but were unable to locate the vehicle.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the stolen car to contact Detective Frank A. Leporino of the Linden Police Department’s Auto Crimes Squad at 1-908-474-8535.
