EDISON—Milika Griffiths of Edison, a sophomore at The Wardlaw-Hartridge School in North Edison, was named to the New Jersey All-State Mixed Chorus.
“We are immensely proud of Milika for being selected through competitve auditions to participate in next year’s All-State Mixed Chorus,” said music teacher Sharon Byrne. She added that 354 students made it into the chorus out of 1,264 students who auditioned.
“Milika placed third among the first altos. She has a beautiful voice and is an absolute pleasure to work with. It would not surprise me if we saw her name in lights one day!”
Griffiths was named to the All-State Mixed Chorus last year and has been a member of the Central Jersey Music Educators Association Region Chorus and ACDA All-Eastern Division Chorus.
She said, “This accomplishment is such an honor to me. Being accepted into all of these choirs still comes as a complete surprise. I truly believe that achievements like these are stepping stones to where I will be musically in the future.”
