WASHINGTON, D.C.—Amanda Ussak of Edison, the NJ Cherry Blossom Princess met with Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr., her Sixth District Congressman, in his Capitol Hill office on Tuesday, April 13. The New Jersey State Society in Washington, D.C., selects the NJ princess, and Pallone is one of the honorary directors of the state society.
Ussak, a senior honor student at George Washington University, had just completed a week of Cherry Blossom Festival activities, including a congressional reception on Capitol Hill, a grand ball, and the parade itself on Saturday. She also participated in volunteer activities, including preparing gift bags for 1500 women in uniform in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Amanda is the daughter of AnnMarie Griffith-Ussak, principal of the Washington Elementary School, and Michael Ussak, coordinator of volunteers for the NJ Sharing Network for Organ Tissue and Procurement.
