Authorities Search For Two Suspects In Elizabeth Homicide

ELIZABETH — Authorities have identified three suspects in the homicide of an Elizabeth man last October, said Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow.

Around 11:30 p.m. on Oct. 5, 2009 members of the Elizabeth Police Department were summoned to the 1000 block of Fairmount Avenue where they discovered the victim, Rahssan J. Holmes, 31, in the bedroom of an apartment suffering from gunshot wounds. He was later pronounced dead at the scene, said Romankow.


The Union County Homicide Task Force spent several months gathering evidence and conducting statements. Last week complaints were signed against the following:

1) Tavon Greene, 23, of Newark AKA Spaz

2) Akino Young, 21,  of East Orange AKA Beans

3) Kamani Bigelow, 22, of Orange

Each is charged with felony murder and robbery, authorities said.

Kamani Bigelow surrendered to authorities on Wednesday evening. She is being held at the Union County Jail on $500,000 bail.

Police continue to search for Greene and Young and urge anyone with information on their whereabouts to contact Det. Steve Francisco at (908) 527-4168.
