Haitian Artists Present A Rebirth Of Haiti Through Art

BERKELEY HEIGHTS—“Hope Springs Eternal: A Rebirth of Haiti Through Art,” an art exhibit and reception opens Friday, April 16, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Summit Medical Group, 1 Diamond Hill Road, Berkeley Heights. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.

Arts Center Benefit To Raise Funds For Programs

SUMMIT—On May 22, at 7 p.m., join the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey for Jewel in the Crown; the Art Center’s Spring Benefit. Inspired by the current exhibition Erasing Borders 2010: Contemporary Art of the Indian Diaspora, which focuses on the outstanding work of Indo-American artists, the Jewel in the Crown will celebrate the rich culture of India.

South Amboy Plans Memorial Day Parade

SOUTH AMBOY – The city will be holding this year’s Memorial Day parade and celebration a week before the holiday to encourage more participation in the annual salute to U.S. servicemen and women. The parade is scheduled for Saturday, May 22, at 1 p.m.

Newark Bears Host Pasta In The Park

NEWARK—The Newark Bears will host Pasta in the Park at Riverfront Stadium on Saturday, April 24 at 6 p.m. followed by the excitement of the Newark Bears vs. the Camden Riversharks. Tickets are $10 per person and include pasta dinner, game and fireworks.

PISCATAWAY – On April 25, at Rutgers Athletic Center in Piscataway, thousands of families and business leaders will join together in the March of Dimes’ annual March for Babies—the nation’s oldest walk fundraiser honoring babies born healthy and those who need help to survive and thrive.
