ROSELLE PARK—Members of Kean University’s SNJEA Educators Club are sponsoring a bulk clothing drive on Sunday, April 18, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
The clothing will be collected at the Sun Tavern on 600 West Westfield Avenue, Roselle Park. The entire proceeds of the clothing drive will be donated to the Auxiliary of Trinitas Regional Medical Center in Elizabeth.
The university group is collecting clean, usable clothing for men, women and children as well as accessory items such as handbags, ties, belts, hats, scarves and gloves. Household items such as bed linens and towels, curtains and table cloths are also being collected as are toys (no larger than 24” x 24”) and stuffed animals.
For its part as host of the clothing drive, the Sun Tavern is offering discounts on selected menu items during the sales from noon through 4 p.m. on April 18 at its location on West Westfield Avenue Coupons will be handed out to those who make clothing drop offs when they arrive at Sun Tavern’s location.
“The good will and community spirit of these students of Kean is a tribute to them, their families, and to the university,” notes Lisa Liss, Director of Volunteer Services at Trinitas.
“Sun Tavern is to be congratulated, too. They are supporting the students while also helping families during this tough economy by offering discounts at the restaurant during the hours of the clothing drive. I applaud them and the students for this true community effort. Since 100% of the proceeds from the clothing drive will be donated to Trinitas Regional Medical Center, this community effort will greatly benefit people and families we serve at Trinitas.”
