WOODBRIDGE—The Woodbridge Township Department of Health & Human Services and the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign are hosting a day-long series of free health and wellness events, information sessions, and physical fitness programs, including sign-up registration for “Shape-Up Woodbridge ~ 2010” on Saturday, April 10 at the Woodbridge Health Center (2 George Frederick Plaza).
Health and wellness experts and professional staff will offer health and wellness screenings; free H1N1 vaccinations; healthy cooking demonstrations by Wegman’s of Woodbridge; healthy eating tips and free health snacks from Cabot; indoor Zumba demonstration and physical fitness classes by the staff from The Club at Woodbridge; wellness activities for kids and parents; and much more.
The Woodbridge Municipal Alliance coordinates township-wide substance abuse information and awareness programs and will present anti-drug and alcohol messages through interactive health and wellness programs geared to educate the community.
Plan to “weigh-in” with the Mayor’s Wellness Campaign and the popular “Shape-Up Woodbridge” weight-loss challenge. Over the past two years, more than two hundred participants “weighed-in” for “Shape-Up Woodbridge,” with more than 50 dedicated program finalists completing the weight-loss challenge.
Targeting the five most significant and preventable behaviors that impact health – improper nutrition, lack of sleep, lack of physical activity, stress, and tobacco use –“Shape-Up Woodbridge” teaches participants how to drop extra pounds through a healthy, safe and manageable weight loss regimen.
“Shape-Up Woodbridge” gets you started with a regular fitness regimen and works to improve nutrition – all under the advice of experts.
