CRANFORD—On Friday, April 30, the Union County College Office of Admissions, Records, and Registration, in partnership with the New Jersey Department of Veteran Affairs Health Care System, will be hosting a workshop titled “Veterans Health Issues” from noon to 2 p.m. in the Executive Education Center, located on the second floor of the Campus Center on the Cranford campus.
This workshop is for any veteran who may be suffering from a physical or mental illness, or who needs assistance but does not know how the Department of Veteran Affairs can help. On site that day will be medical and mental health professionals from the Department of Veteran Affairs treatment centers in Lyons and East Orange who will be presenting information on resources available to help veterans in need. The workshop will also cover how the Veteran Affairs benefits may be able to help a veteran take classes at Union County College.
The college’s Cranford campus is located at 1033 Springfield Avenue. Seating is limited for this free workshop. Those planning to attend should call 1-908-709-7518 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org to register. As well, if a veteran planning to attend is in need of special accommodations due to a disability, contact Heather Keith, Coordinator of Services for Students with Disabilities at 1-908-709-7164.
