St. John The Apostle Celebrates 60th Anniversary

CLARK—Most Reverend Dominic Marconi (center) celebrates Mass February 28 at St. John the Apostle Church in Clark/Linden marking the parish’s 60 years as a Family of Faith.

During the Mass, representatives from the various church and school organizations presented flowers to the current pastor, Reverend Robert McBride, signifying their stewardship, love and commitment to St. John the Apostle Church and School. A reception followed in the Sister Donna Marie O’Brien Auditorium.

The cornerstone of St. John the Apostle Church was laid in 1949. The first Mass at the completed church took place in March of 1950.  It also was in 1950, that St. John the Apostle School opened and still continues to provide students with a strong academic and Catholic education.
