UNION COUNTY—On Saturday, May 15, Literacy Volunteers of Union County, Inc. will host The Readers Cup, a fundraiser to support adult literacy.  The event will be held at Pegasus East, the Meadowlands Racetrack in East Rutherford and promises to be a great night at the races.  A buffet dinner starts at 6 p.m. and includes fresh salads, appetizers, hot entrees, carving station and dessert.  Post time is 7 p.m.

The money raised at The Readers’ Cup will be used to provide free tutoring for adults struggling with their literacy skills.  Executive Director, Elizabeth Gloeggler said, “As the second year for this event, everyone at Literacy Volunteers is looking forward to an amazing turnout!  Adult literacy is so important because when we teach someone how to read, we give them the tools to change their lives.”
