MORRISTOWN – MSG Varsity will be airing the Frozen Flashback, a hockey game 21 years in the making, Monday, April 5 at 8 p.m. on MSG Varsity, Cablevision’s iO TV (Channel 14).

The teams from Delbarton School of Morristown and St. Joseph’s School of Montvale, have reassembled to take the ice to finally play the New Jersey State Ice Hockey Championship game that was cancelled in 1989 due to a measles outbreak. The teams will now play for charity as they face-off at the Mennen Arena in Morristown, the site where the championship game was to be held in 1989.

“MSG Varsity is thrilled to exclusively air this historic hockey match-up,” said Michael Larder, Senior Vice President & Executive Producer, MSG Varsity. “Back in 1989, high school sports games were not being televised – so how cool that these players now get the chance to end this long running debate on television, while giving back to the local community – it’s a win for everyone.”
