COLONIA—Members of the NJ STARS League at Middlesex County College assisted at the Eighth Annual Easter Parade and Egg Hunt March 27 to benefit a Colonia family who had fallen on hard times.

The program, an annual event coordinated by the “Colonia Corner,” a local newspaper, included dozens of children’s games, the Fun Bus, the Easter Parade, and loads of laughs. The Middlesex group helped organize several games, including the Easter egg hunt.

NJ STARS is a scholarship program that covers tuition and fees for those students who graduate in the top of their high school class and go to their community college; the League is a volunteer organization of those students who engage in academic, social and community service activities.

Searching for eggs are, from left: NJ STARS Johanna Safranski (Hopelawn) and Altica Quintin (Fords), her brother Uzziah Quintin, Anthony Genova (Colonia) and NJ STAR Seanelle Royer (Woodbridge).
