SCOTCH PLAINS – NJ Blood Services donor room and the Gallery at South Avenue is featuring an exhibit by Union County photographer James L. Occi who has focused his images on local high school athletes.
As a result of covering high school athletics for the Cranford Chronicle newspaper, combined with his love for baseball, Occi’s photographs reflect his keen eye for “the moment” in each of his images.
The exhibit which opens April 1 through June 10, reflects the best of the best of Union County’s athletes from Arthur L. Johnson, Cranford, David Brearley, Scotch Plains/Fanwood, Summit and Westfield high schools.
NJ Blood Services invites students from the aforementioned schools, and their parents, to visit the center at 2279 South Avenue in Scotch Plains, view the exhibit and also donate blood if they are 16 years of age and older.
For donor room hours, call 908-232-2594. To donate blood call 1-800-933-BLOOD (2566) or visit our website at www.nybloodcenter.org
