Rahway Students Learn About The Lenape

RAHWAY—Fourth grade students at Roosevelt School in Rahway enjoyed a presentation by archaeologist/educator John T. Kraft, Director on the Lenape or Delaware Indians of New Jersey.

Students learned about traditional Lenape culture, focusing on daily life, which followed the rhythms of nature’s cycles. Students watched a slide presentation, listened to stories and viewed many touchable objects and artifacts, including authentic clothing, tools, musical instruments, artwork, masks and games.
