South Amboy’s O’Leary Won’t Seek Re-Election

SOUTH AMBOY – Mayor John O’Leary will not seek a seventh term as the chief executive of South Amboy. He is the longest-serving mayor in Middlesex County and will have been in office for 24 years when his current term ends.

The South Amboy Democratic Committee selected Council President Fred Henry as its nominee for mayor. Councilman Joseph Connors and Michael Gross will have committee backing to run for two at-large council seats.
