KEARNY—Big Brothers Big Sisters of Essex, Hudson & Union Counties (BBBS) recently received a $10,000 donation from Power Survey Company, the world leader in contact voltage detection. The gift will help BBBS support local mentoring programs, which make a profound and positive difference in the lives of thousands of children each year.
“We are very pleased to support Big Brothers Big Sisters, which provides a vital service to the communities they serve,” said Greg Olsen, Power Survey Company’s chairman.
Recent independent research conducted by Harris Interactive shows that BBBS has proven that mentoring relationships can transform lives. Compared to a control group of youth not assigned to BBBS mentors, children involved in BBBS programs are more likely to obtain a college degree, earn a salary of $75,000 or more, and are more likely to volunteer in their communities as adults. The gift from Power Survey Company will help support BBBS programs that benefit youth throughout the region.
“Our efforts in Essex, Hudson, and Union Counties are made possible through the generous support of organizations like Power Survey Company,” said Carlos Lejnieks, president and CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Essex, Hudson and Union Counties. “Like us, Power Survey Company believes in nurturing the health and wellbeing of children and their families in the region. We are so thankful for their gift, and we look forward to working with them in the future.”
