MORRISTOWN — New Jersey Ballet will bring its enchanting production of Cinderella to The Community Theatre at Mayo Center for the Performing Arts, Morristown on Sunday, April 11 at 3 p.m.
One of the ballet company’s most popular family productions, Cinderella is a two-act romp through the well-known fairy tale in which wickedly funny stepsisters trip over themselves trying to act like ladies, and the hours of the clock come to life and dance, and the brand new pumpkin turns into a coach before your very eyes!
The Pumpkin Coach is indeed new, much of the scenery has been brightened up and repainted, and some of the costumes – some as old as 40 years! – have been refurbished or replaced with new ones.
The production is accompanied by “storyteller” narration. “Children are enchanted when stories are brought to life through dance and narration,” says Company Director Carolyn Clark. “The combination is a very effective introduction to a classical art form.”
All tickets are $12. Call the box office at 1-973-539-8008 or visit www.mayoarts.org.
