Children’s Specialized Hospital To Host Symposium: The Current Trends In Autism

EDISON—Children’s Specialized Hospital will host an educational symposium about children with autism spectrum disorder on Friday, April 23 at the Pines Manor, 2085 State Route 27, Edison.  This full day, interactive symposium will present information and management tools for parents and caregivers of children with autism.

Health care providers, mental health professionals, parents and other care providers, school personnel, therapists and other professionals who work with children with Autism would benefit from the program, according to hospital officials.


Registration is required.  The fee is $100 for professionals and $50 for parents/caretakers.  The fee includes tuition, continental breakfast, lunch and materials.

Participants will discuss prevalence and the cause of these disorders; learn recent development and treatments; discuss the child’s future growth and development; learn techniques to manage common behavior issues and discover community resources available to achieve optimal outcomes for every child and family.

The day’s sessions will be lead by experts in the field of neurodevelopmental-behavioral pediatrics and psychology.
