Zumbathon Dance Party Will Benefit Cerebral Palsy League

CRANFORD – The Next Step in Fitness Dance Studio and Kick-It-Up Training in Cranford are holding a ZUMBATHON® Dance Party at the Cerebral Palsy League (CPL) Sunday, April 11, to benefit the CPL, the students of the Jardine Academy and the League’s programs and services.

The event will be held 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Jardine Academy at 75 Rod Smith Place in Cranford, across from the Field of Dreams.  Tickets cost $20 in advance and $25 at the door the day of the event.  Tickets may be purchased via email at kickituptraining@verizon.net, by phone at 908.343.0032 or by visiting the studio at 29 Alden Street in Cranford.

The ZUMBATHON will feature the exercise of ZUMBA® Fitness, which fuses musical rhythm and body sculpting moves to create a dynamic workout system designed to be both fun and easy, according to Vivienne Mora of Kick-It-Up Training, a certified personal trainer and group exercise instructor.  The routines feature interval training sessions in which fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt while burning fat.

“Our goal is simple,” Mora said. “We want people to want to work out, to love working out, to get hooked. By integrating ZUMBA Fitness into everyday life individuals may achieve long term benefits while experiencing an absolute blast in one exhilarating hour of caloric-burning, heart-racing, muscle-pumping and body-energizing movements meant to engage and captivate for life.”

Next Step in Fitness is a perfect partner for the Cerebral Palsy League, which employs the principals of MOVE International at the Jardine Academy.  MOVE® (Mobility Opportunities Via Education), the internationally renowned mobility program for children and adults with physical disabilities, applies education, psychology, biomechanics and motor science to improve functional mobility skills of persons with severe physical disabilities.  The program objective is to enable participants to sit, stand and walk, thereby allowing for fuller participation with family activities and inclusion in the wider community.

“Teaming with The Next Step in Fitness and Kick-It-Up Training was so natural for us,” said Debra Wolfel, CPL executive director.  “We both believe in the benefits and enjoyment of movement. CPL employs movement as a life-enhancing principle within our curriculum and with the studio using it to help people become healthier.  We are so appreciative of Next Step in Fitness and Kick-It-Up Training for hosting this event.

“I encourage everyone to come to the ZUMBATHON at the Jardine Academy April 11 to learn just how beneficial and fun ZUMBA Fitness can be.  You can combine discovering a new way to get healthy and improve your life with visiting our new facility, having a whole lot of fun.”
