Students Venture Into Online Learning

RAHWAY—Blogs? Online forums? What are they all about? Just ask any of the students in the eighth grade computer class at Rahway High School. As part of an initiative to create 21st Century Learners, students participate in a blog.

They tackle the much-debated questions of interest to most middle school students. Should students be allowed to carry a cell phone in school? Should ripped jeans be allowed to be worn in school? Blogs allow the students the online forum to have their opinions heard and published. Students participate in the blog and comment on each other’s contribution.
