WESTFIELD—Westfield Community Players continues the 2009 -2010 season with Frederick Knott’s thriller “Dial M for Murder”. The show continues Friday and Saturday evenings March 26 and 27. The 24-hour ticket tape at 908-232-1221 is now on and all reserved seating is $20 in the theater located at 1000 North Avenue, West in Westfield.
Director Steve Lemenille (Clark), a veteran of multiple productions, has a tight ensemble for this thriller, and is assisted by stage manager Barbara Ruban (Springfield) and producer Lucille Bills (Scotch Plains).
This thriller gives us A.J. Liana (Bayonne) as Tony Wendice who has married Margot (Alexandra Drori, North Plainfield) for her money, and now plans to murder her for the same reason. As the arranged murder takes place, Margot survives by killing the murderer, Captain Lesgate (Ken Ludmer, Westfield). Husband Tony, seizing the opportunity, twists the story to get his wife convicted for killing the hired killer.
As a suspicious Scotland Yard team led by Dickson Lane (Montclair) as Inspector Hubbard investigates, he is joined by Margot’s lover Max (Brian Remo North Plainfield). Together, they slowly close in on the real killer as Margot faces increasing danger from her husband. Also featured are Mark Douches (Scotch Plains) and Gary Tamburro (Springfield).
