ROSELLE—Members of the Union County Homicide Task Force are investigating the death of a taxi driver who was found inside his vehicle on Friday night in Roselle, said Union County Prosecutor Theodore J. Romankow.
The Roselle Police Department was dispatched to the 900 block of Drake Avenue around 10:29 p.m. Friday for a report of a man unresponsive inside a taxi. Upon arrival they discovered the victim, John Zych, 57, lying across the front seats of the vehicle, according to authorities.
Zych, who was known as Jack, was a driver for the Linden based Joan’s Transportation, said Romankow. The Medical Examiners’ Office determined the cause of death to be a homicide.
The Homicide Task Force and the Roselle Police department continue to canvass the area for witnesses and video surveillance from surrounding businesses, said Romankow.

Additionally, Union County Crimestoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the death of John Zych. Crimestoppers may be reached at 1-908-654-TIPS and all calls are kept anonymous and confidential.
