RAHWAY—Students in Alicia Scipioni’s second grade class at Franklin School in Rahway recently studied their shadows. Their investigation involved them recording the different positions of the sun and the length and direction of their shadows as part of their study of objects in the sky. The students were also very excited to take a walk around the school building to measure a mile in conjunction with their everyday math unit. Pictured is second grade student Anjana Basnayake tracing Janelle Boatwright’s shadow.
