CLARK – The classic American musical “Gypsy” will be performed at the recently-renovated Arthur L. Johnson High School auditorium on Thursday, March 18, Friday, March 19 and Saturday, March 20.
The play is set in the late 1920s through the 1930s and is about a woman’s struggle to escape her mundane life and follow her dream to make her daughter a Vaudeville star. It is a musical experience for all ages.
Peter Nevargic, director of the play, says “‘Gypsy’ is considered by many to be the perfect musical because of its combination of terrific songs, great story line and legendary performances. It is a major part of American popular culture.”
The curtain goes up at 7 p.m. each night, and admission is just $5 per person. Senior citizens will be admitted for free at Saturday night’s performance.
