Time For More Change In Perth Amboy

Peter Jiminez, City Council president, may be regarded as an elder “statesman” in some circles. But he sounds and acts more like a typical politician talking out of both sides of his mouth. His fellow council members, Bolanowski and Sottilaro, decided to call it quits, fearing the wrath of the over-burdened taxpayers.

Mr. Jiminez’s statements that Mayor Wilda Diaz has been in “office for two years now” shows he is deficient in simple arithmetic. She took office on July 1, 2008, which is four months short of two years. And he tries to handle multi-million dollar budgets?

He also states that “You can’t blame Vas no more,” which is completely false and misleading. The former (how sweet is the word “former”) mayor is responsible for the mess in which the city finds itself.

Jiminez and his fellow council members went along with the tyrant. Only a few guys like me stood up to the bully. Meanwhile Mayor Diaz works very hard and long to restore this city. But the present City Council and the Board of Education are especially inept and useless in coping with our economic problems.

Hopefully the new council with the dead wood removed will be much more effective in helping La Gran Alcadesa Wilda in restoring a much better life to all of our residents!
