PERTH AMBOY…Raritan Bay Medical Center is offering an American Heart Association (AHA) CPR for Family and Friends class Wednesday, March 10, 7 p.m., at the hospital’s Perth Amboy location, 530 New Brunswick Ave.  The class will include a basic introduction to adult, infant and child “chain of survival,” CPR, safety, legal and ethical considerations.  No formal credit is given for this course, which is not for certification, but those who complete it will receive a participation card from the AHA. PERTH AMBOY…Raritan Bay Medical Center is offering an American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR class Wednesday, March 10, 7 to 11:30 p.m. at the hospital’s Perth Amboy location, 530 New Brunswick Ave. Participants will receive certification in adult CPR, learn about ventilation devices, automated external defibrillators and how to clear an obstructed airway in responsive and unresponsive patients.  Cost is $80 per person. OLD BRIDGE. . . Raritan Bay Medical Center’s is sponsoring a Diabetes Support Group meeting Wednesday, March 10, 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the hospital’s Old Bridge location, off of Ferry Rd. between routes 9 and 18.  Guest speaker Ragini Raghuveer, RBMC Manager of Clinical Nutrition, will discuss “Menu Planning for the Holidays.” Support group leader Debbie Petrizzo, RN, invites anyone coping with diabetes as well as their spouse or caregiver to attend, share experiences and learn the latest diabetes management information.  The program will be held in Auxiliary Hall B and C, lower level of the Old Bridge Medical Arts Building, adjacent to the medical center.  Participants determine discussion topics.  Registration required, call (732) 324-5300.

PERTH AMBOY… Raritan Bay Medical Center’s monthly tour of its Dr. Sam Gordon Berkow Maternity Pavilion and family health information open house will be held Thursday, March 11, at 7 p.m.

Newly expectant parents are invited to take the tour and learn about the maternity unit’s modern comforts designed to provide a calm and relaxing birthing experience. As part of the event information is provided, in an open house format, about child car seat safety, guided imagery and body mechanics training for use during labor, nutritional information for mother and child, how to pick a pediatrician and an infant CPR demonstration.

Raritan Bay Medical Center is sponsoring a Bariatric Weight Loss Support Group meeting Thursday, March 18, 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the hospital’s Perth Amboy location, 530 New Brunswick Ave.  For those who have had weight loss surgery, contemplating weight loss surgery or just trying to maintain a healthy weight, facilitator Lauretta Thompson, RN, MSN, CRNI, will lead discussions on the concerns surrounding weight loss surgery as well as its successes.  Family and friends are welcome.  The meeting will be held in Centennial Hall.  For more information, call 732.324.6025.

Raritan Bay Medical Center is sponsoring a one day Childbirth Education / Lamaze Class Saturday, March 20, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  The class is designed to help future parents better understand the childbearing process.
