EDISON—A six month investigation by the Edison Police has resulted in the arrests of three township residents who were charged with committing multiple robberies in the area of the Edison Train Station and Edison Village, police announced today.

Dominick Corbin, Yusuf Banks and Christopher Thompson, all 19, were arrested on Friday, March 5, and charged with two counts of robbery.

The suspects have been linked to a Jan. 3 robbery where a victim was stabbed in the buttocks and leg area and a Nov. 19, 2009 incident where a male victim was assaulted with an unknown object causing lacerations to his head, police said.

A total of seven similar robberies have been reported since September 2009, Edison Police Lt. Salvatore Filannino said. In each case, the victim was walking home from the Edison Train Station toward Edison Village when they were assaulted and their property taken.

The  Edison Police Detective Bureau’s investigation was led by Detectives Jeffrey Tierney and Frank Varga.

Corbin, Banks and Thompson were remanded to the Middlesex County Correctional Center, with bail set at $250,000 each. Banks was already in custody on an unrelated charge, authorities said.

Police are continuing the investigation and more charges may follow.
