LINDEN – Three vehicles parked on Helen Street, as well as a North Wood Avenue shop were shot with BB pellets over the weekend, police said.

On Sunday, March 7, officers responded to the 400 block of Helen Street to investigate a report of a vehicle damaged by BB pellets, according to Linden Police Detective Lt. James Sarnicki. While at the scene, they were informed that two additional vehicles were also damaged.

The three vehicles, a 2006 Nissan, 2003 Ford wagon, and a 1997 Ford wagon, had windows damaged by BB’s sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning, Sarnicki said. Officers were later called to the Mango Thrift Store on North Wood Avenue, a block away from the Helen Street location, where they were told that 10 BB damaged the shop’s front window.

Detectives will be reviewing video footage from the store for leads, Sarnicki said. Police are asking anyone with information on these incidents to contact the Juvenile Bureau at 1-908-474-8520 or email crimetips@police.lindenes-nj.org.
