RAHWAY—The students in Alicia Scipioni’s second grade class at Franklin School learned how to use the Skype program in the computer lab with the assistance of Linda Lampert. The students met another class online and had to guess through a question and answer session where the other class was from.

Scipioni’s students were excited to find out that the other students were in a second grade class in Parkside Elementary School in Parkside, Pa. Now the students have become penpals.  They enjoy writing friendly letters to each other in school.

Pictured here are some of Scipioni’s students, Nadia Sirah, Cristian Nunez, Saud Shah, Kelvyn Vaquedano and Janelle Boatwright, holding the letters they have received from their new penpals. Photo courtesy of Franklin School.
