Students Visit Congressman In Washington

EDISON—Upper School students from The Wardlaw-Hartridge School in Edison Charles Kennedy of Watchung, Mariel Kennedy of Watchung, Adhiraj Sirohi of Edison, Charles Pivnichny of Plainfield, Alex Wang of Somerville, Daniel Marques of Elizabeth, Saheela Ibraheem of Piscataway, and Greg Lamparello of Watchung attended the Junior Statesmen of America Convention in Washington, D.C. from Feb. 26 to 28.

Kennedy received the Chief Debater Award, the most prestigious honor garnered during the convention, which was attended by approximately 750 students from 30 chapters. During the convention, the students experienced first-hand the intricate workings of the federal legislative process. During the course of their visit, they also toured the Capitol building, the State Chamber, and met with Congressman Leonard Lance (R-NJ).
