UNION—The YM-YWHA of Union County still has limited openings in the ten divisions offered in the 2010 Summer Camp Program.

The divisions include camps for toddlers, observant Jewish children, an Israeli-themed camp, secular camp, and travel camps for the older groups. Camp begins on Monday, June 28, and continues for eight weeks through Aug. 20.

With swimming, sports, music, drama, nature, cooking, and trips, the camp houses close to 500 campers, ages 2-15 each summer. The facilities include the newly renovated Schering-Plough Indoor Aquatics Center, as well as a beautiful new and private outdoor pool. Grassy play areas, three ball fields, state-of-the-art playgrounds and a full air-conditioned indoor building make camp both fun and educational every day.

Unique to many other area camps, the Y offers an optional kosher lunch program, as well as early drop-off and late pick-up. With Y Family Membership included in camp packages, parents can enjoy the fitness center, pool, and Sunday afternoon swim club. Bus/van transportation is available in selected areas.

This year, the camps will again host three Israeli counselors, as well as music, sports, drama, nature, dance, and cooking Specialists. The camp is licensed; there are three EMTs on staff full-time, as well as teachers and school principals.

The early discount will end the end of March and camp spaces are quickly filling up as of press time. The last open house/information session will be held on Tuesday, March 16, at 7 p.m. Private appointments can also be made.

The Y participates in government assisted programs and limited scholarships are available. The Y is located at 501 Green Lane in Union. For more information, call 1-908-289-8112.
