LINDEN – Police have charged an Elizabeth man with burglary for allegedly breaking into a Brook Street residence on Nov. 5, 2009, authorities said.
Junior A. Arias, 29, was linked to the Linden burglary after he was arrested in Hillside Township and charged with a burglary there, according to authorities.
Between noon and 3 p.m. on Nov. 5, 2009, Arias allegedly removed two glass panels from a rear door of the Brook Street home and cut the screen to gain entry, police said. He allegedly took a laptop computer, a GPS unit, an Apple iPod, and a Nintendo Wii video game console, according to police.
Detectives recovered physical evidence from the scene and laboratory analysis was able to link Arias to the crime, police said.
Linden police charged Arias with receiving stolen property and criminal mischief in addition to burglary. Bail was set at $50,000.
Arias is currently being held at Union County Jail in Elizabeth on the Hillside charges, and authorities are continuing the investigation to determine if he may have been involved in other area burglaries.
