Perth Amboy Schools Raise $19,000 For Haiti

PERTH AMBOY – Representatives from Perth Amboy Public Schools will present a check for over $19,000 to the American Red Cross to help with the Haiti earthquake relief efforts today.

William C. McGinnis School collected the most money, a total of $3,625. But the entire school community participated. Sophia Espaillat, a 4-year-old student, orchestrated a successful drive at her preschool raising a total of $1,174. Wesley Abreu, a middle school student, organized a donation drive at his parents’ grocery store generating a total of $618.
