Free Seminar On Managing Your Child’s Food Allergies

NEW BRUNSWICK—PSE&G Children’s Specialized Hospital is offering a free seminar for parents and caregivers of children with food allergies titled, “Managing Your Child’s Food Allergies” on Monday, March 8, at 6:30 p.m. at PSE&G Children’s Specialized Hospital, 200 Somerset Street, New Brunswick.

The Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network reports more than 12 million Americans have food allergies and three million of those are children.  The incidence of food allergy is highest in young children, one in 17 among those under 3 years of age.

Certified pediatric clinical dietitian Janice Baunach, MS, RD, CSP, of Children’s Specialized Hospital, will present and discuss the importance of identifying allergens in foods and will offer tips for preparing allergy-free meals.  Specialty food products and allergy cookbooks will be available.
