ELIZABETH—Community Access Unlimited (CAU) will host its 26th annual awards night celebration on Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at L’Affaire in Mountainside.
CAU, a non-profit social services agency that provides assistance to people with disabilities and at-risk youth, will honor staff, members, community organizations, and individuals within the community that have supported programs during the past year.
Educator of the Year Award will be presented to Jason Balsamello, Principal at Hillcrest Academy in Westfield; Community Service Award is being presented to Union Avenue Pharmacy of Bound Brook; Health Care Professional of the Year Award goes to Trinity Pediatrics of Union; Elizabeth Police Department will receive the Citizen of the Year Award.
CAU will present Donna McCourt of the Division of Developmental Disabilities with this year’s Distinguished Social Service Award; George Hajjar will be presented with the Distinguished Community Service Award; Youth Advocate of the Year Award goes to Richard Ciccerone, social worker for the Division of Youth and Family Services; Union County Savings Bank will receive the Community Partnership Award; and the Supportive Housing Service Award will be presented to Charles Evans of the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs.
CAU members and staff will also be cited for their efforts.
