RAHWAY – A taxi driver was robbed at knifepoint early Monday morning, according to police.
The driver told police that he picked up his fare in Plainfield and dropped him off at Irving Street and Central Avenue around 1:20 a.m. The passenger pulled out a knife and robbed the driver of an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing on foot, according to police.
A similar robbery was reported on Clinton Street on Feb. 18, but police said that the suspect descriptions were very different, making it unlikely that the same man was responsible for both crimes.
