The American Choral Directors Association recently hosted their biennial conference in Philadelphia. As a part of this conference the best singers from the northeastern states were chosen through a competitive audition process to perform in an honor choir concert on the final day of the conference.
This year’s choir was directed by Barbara Tagg, professor of music at Syracuse University. The Honor Choir performed in the historic Church of the Holy Trinity at Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia after having rehearsed for over 15 hours during the four-day conference. While in Philadelphia the honor choir also had the opportunity to perform at Constitution Hall.
Other members of this prestigious choir from Union County were Anna Close from Park Middle School in Scotch Plains and Katie Gordon, from Cranford High School, both also members of the Celebration Children’s Choir.
