Tourist Robbed In Hotel Lobby

LINDEN – A 50-year-old Chinese tourist was robbed in the lobby of a Linden hotel Tuesday morning, police said.

At 8:48 a.m., the tourist approached by a man who began asking him questions in the lobby of the Hampton in on West Edgar Road. A second man walked by and grabbed a black leather bag belonging to the tourist, Linden police detective Lt. James Sarnicki said.

Both suspects ran out of the hotel and drove off in a black 2010 Jeep with Pennsylvania license plate HHT 1149, according to Sarnicki.

The victim was not injured, police said. The victim told the officers that the bag contained U.S. and Chinese currency, a camera, cell phone, credit card and passport.
