Grandparenting Seminar – Fee: $20/person or $35/couple

Women’s Health/Parent Education at Saint Barnabas holds a Grandparenting Seminar which allows grandparents-to-be to discuss their concerns and receive information on the importance of grandparenting, advancements in childbirth, trends and changes in infant care and family communication. Weight Loss Surgery Options – Fee: None

Weight loss is a journey – not a destination.  In order to be successful, it requires life-long changes and commitment. SBMC’s Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence is led by accomplished laparoscopic bariatric surgeons who are respected members of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Its goal is to develop a relationship with you and support you throughout your journey to better health. If you have tried and failed to lose weight, have a BMI of over 40 or a BMI of over 35 with obesity-related medical problems or are 80-100 pounds overweight, bariatric surgery may be the solution. Prevention of Common Sports Related Injuries in Young Athletes – Fee: None

Parents of young athletes and their children are invited to join physicians with The Saint Barnabas Sports and Physical Medicine Institute for an educational program about injuries that are often seen while young athletes are playing sports. Discussion will include pertinent information about common sports-related injuries and proper conditioning for athletes to help prevent injuries. Light refreshments will be served. Destination Heart Healthy Eating

Party for a Purpose is an elaborate evening of fine food, cocktails, and dancing to benefit the programs and services of The Cancer Center of Saint Barnabas Medical Center. It was created in 2007 in loving memory of Vincent Tedesco by his wife Janet and their family and friends. Mr. Tedesco was a devoted husband and father who enriched the lives of all who knew him.  This annual event supports The Cancer Center of Saint Barnabas Medical Center and recognizes the physicians and staff for the compassionate care they provide to our community. Those who have experienced a loss during pregnancy or the death of a newborn often benefit from sharing their distress and receiving support from others who have suffered a similar tragedy.
