AVENEL — A parent-child book club project at Avenel Middle School will be the subject of a feature on the NJN television program “Classroom Close-up, NJ” this week.
LaDawna Harrington, a teacher librarian in Avenel Middle School, actively promotes reading and literacy through a multitude of projects, including a parent-child book club. Harrington connects the selected book to a community service, and the current topic covers foster families.
This story will be featured on “Classroom Close-up, NJ” on Feb. 15, Feb. 20, March 22 and March 27. Classroom Close-up, NJ is a co-production of the New Jersey Education Association and NJN Public Television, with additional funding provided by PSE&G.
The program has received eight Emmys from the New York and Mid Atlantic Chapters. The show airs every Monday at 7 p.m. and every Saturday at 9 a.m. on NJN. Consult your local television guide for the NJN channel.
