ALJ Basketball Teams Battle Cancer

Monday, February 8, 2010

CLARK – Basketball teams stepped up to battle cancer at Arthur L. Johnson High School last week. Coaches vs. Cancer raised money to support the American Cancer Society on Feb. 2.

The ALJ girls’ team played Roselle High School, while the boy’s team played Governor Livingston High School. Players and coaches supported the cause by wearing pink shoe laces and pink socks, as did many spectators. The previous weekend, the NCAA ran a similar event across the nation.

L’Oreal donated pink beauty products to all the female attendees.

Representatives from the American Cancer Society and Robert Wood Johnson attended to support the cause as well as to hand out important information. All proceeds from this event were donated to the American Cancer Society.
