DENVER, Colo – Colorado prosecutors won’t pursue charges against an Elizabeth man who had been accused of threatening an Amtrak train because further investigation showed that he didn’t actually make a threat.

Ojore Nuru Lutalo, 64, was arrested on Jan. 26 on suspicion of felony endangering public transportation. Passengers on the train had reported concerns to an Amtrak steward after overhearing portions of Lutalo’s cell phone conversation, but when they were later interviewed by police they said they never heard any specific threats to the train.

Lutalo was returning to New Jersey after speaking at a Los Angeles book fair sponsored by the Anarchist Black Cross Federation. He said that he was relieved that the charges were dropped.
