Linden Students Raise Money In Honor Of Former Classmate

Thursday, February 4, 2010

LINDEN – Last month, students at McManus Middle School participated in a bowl-a-thon fundraiser in honor of Jaci Wozniak, an eighth grade student who passed away on Christmas Day after battling a cancerous bone tumor.

Under the direction of social studies teacher Anthony Ventura, students gathered sponsors to support them for each pin they knocked down over the course of three bowled games. Generous contributions from community members, school faculty and the student body will help to offset the enormous medical bills.  All proceeds went directly to the Wozniak family and the Friends of Jaci Foundation.

Linden Lanes and Mama Pizzeria provided support to make the fundraiser a success. For more information on how to contribute to the Friends of Jaci Foundation, contact McManus Middle School 1-908-486-7751.

Soehl Middle School students Rempee Kalia, Magda Fleszar, Cindy Lira, Jennifer Fitzula, Skylar Bean, Samantha Bowbliss, Nicole Tarnawski and Monica Tarnawski enjoy bowling for a cause.

Elizabeth Swinton, Alex Pachon, Ryan Vasquez, Kevin Dynda, Sebastian Szyluk, Allison Dixon and Gabby Gonzales of McManus Middle School participate in the Bowl – A – Thon.
