Lunch Box Derby

February 2, 2010

RAHWAY—The fifth grade students at Roosevelt Elementary school recently completed the Motion and Design kit in science. To close out the kit, the students took part in the annual “Roosevelt Lunch Box Derby.” Using what they learned, students were challenged to create a vehicle using fruits and vegetables and then race it. The students were supplied with two bamboo skewers, a rubber band, and four tooth picks. Using only those supplies and at least five fruits, the students met their challenge Photo courtesy of Roosevelt School
