As it stands now, leading Democrats in the House of Representatives plan to pass the Senate’s pro-abortion health care bill, with some alterations, using the controversial reconciliation process, according to an Associated Press report.

It is unlikely that the abortion funding provisions will be dropped because that is not the kind of financial measure that can be used in reconciliation. House legislators who vote for the pro-abortion Senate bill would likely be voting for government funding of abortions.

If that is the case, it would be the most pro-abortion legislation ever passed by the United States Congress.

Has anyone thought of the irony that is inherent in a “healthcare” bill that will bring about the tragic death of so many innocent American children?  Are not the women whose babies are aborted really victims as well?  The only clear winner in this situation is the lucrative abortion industry.

We should most certainly mend our present healthcare system and provide coverage for the uninsured, but not at the cost of defenseless American children who have an intrinsic right “to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”

Let us defend them by telling our Congressional legislators to vote against any healthcare reform bill that provides for government subsidized abortions.
