NEW BRUNSWICK—Students from Middlesex County College will be available to assist the public in preparing their tax returns. The assistance, by appointment only, is available on Fridays and Saturdays during tax season.
It will be at the New Brunswick Center, located at 140 New Street, which is at the intersection of New Street and Joyce Kilmer Avenue. Available hours on Friday are from 1 to 5 p.m.; Saturdays are from noon to 3 p.m. The program will run from Feb. 5 through April 10.
The students are from Democracy House, the College’s service-learning program.
“This was a very popular service last year,” said Yicell Hodge, coordinator of the program. “And we expect it to be again this year. The returns are submitted online, so it is a very easy and convenient process.”
The service is aimed at students and those of moderate income. For an appointment, call the New Brunswick Center at 1-732-745-8866, ext. 130.
